It was Suryakumar Yadav once again doing what he does best everytime he comes to bat. Today’s matchup against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) was a witness of another magnificent spell by him with his 48 runs off 23 balls. Not just individually but his partnership with skipper Hardik Pandya for 94(46) was a promising kick for MI in the first innings.
Adding today’s spell, Suryakumar Yadav with 475 runs in 11 matches has dismissed Gujarat Titans Sai Sudharsan to take the lead as the Orange cap holder now. It’s a big victory for a middle-order batter like him and coming into competition against young and emerging players of today. With three half-centuries under him, the batter is close to making his century with the pace he is playing in.
Yadav’s success for MI
Mumbai Indians (MI) success this season is a big credit to Yadav’s consistency in the batting lineup. A credit to his 11th consecutive 25-run mark, Yadav no doubt has played an important role every time he has set foot on the field, specifically as a batter.
Debuting for the Mumbai Indians in 2012, Yadav’s journey came with excitement and no one would have have thought that the player would be such valuable to the team. “I barely slept the night before my debut for Mumbai Indians – went to bed around 4 or 5 in the morning. There was so much excitement,” says Yadav during a special episode on JioHotstar.
