Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history today by becoming the youngest player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to make his debut at the age of 14 years.Vaibhav started off his IPL career with a bang. On the first ball he faced from Shardul Thakur, he hit it for a six over the covers. This showcased the youngster’s fearlessness. The shot left everyone surprised, including his partner, the bowler, and the opposing captain, Rishabh Pant.
Vaibhav and Yashasvi Jaiswal put together 61 runs in the powerplay and stitched a partnership of 85 runs. Vaibhav scored 34 runs off 20 balls with a strike rate of 170.00. His innings consisted of two fours and three sixes.
Though his innings could not take RR home, as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) beat RR by two runs. But Vaibhav’s debut innings will be remembered in the future. Vaibhav Suryavanshi had taken the cricketing world by storm after becoming the youngest player ever to earn an IPL contract—at the tender age of 13. The left-handed prodigy from Bihar was picked up by the Rajasthan Royals for INR 1.1 crore during the IPL 2025 auction.
